Carved out of the cliff, the troglodyte monastery of Ostrog was built in 1671.

This Orthodox monastery is one of the most visited monasteries in the Balkans. Believers all over the world pay attention to it. It represents a meeting place for three faiths: Orthodox, Catholic and Muslim. Here lies the remains of its founder, Archbishop Vasilije, author of miracles and healings.
